Your TikTok Ads conversion tracking, fixed

Your operator finds what is broken in your TikTok Ads tracking and fixes it.

What usually goes wrong with TikTok Ads tracking

TikTok tracks conversions through the TikTok Pixel on your site and the Events API on your server. TikTok recommends running both.

Only the TikTok Pixel is running

Tracking depends on the browser alone, with no Events API next to it.

Pixel and Events API count the same event twice

The two paths do not share an event ID, so TikTok cannot tell they are one event.

The click ID is not passed back

Server events arrive without the TikTok Click ID, so TikTok cannot tie them to the ad click.

TikTok's match quality score is low

Advanced Matching is off, or sends too few customer details for TikTok to match your events.

Open issues in Diagnostics that nobody looks at

Events Manager flags problems in its Diagnostics tab, together with the ads they affect, and they stay open.

In-store and CRM sales never reach TikTok

No offline events are sent, so TikTok never hears about sales that happen off your site.

How we fix your TikTok Ads tracking

The same four methods run for every platform. On TikTok Ads, they look like this:

Server to server

The Events API sends your conversions from your server to TikTok, directly or through the Events API Gateway, with the same event ID as the Pixel.

Server-side cookies

Your server-side tracking keeps the TikTok Click ID and TikTok's first-party cookie, and sends them with your server events.

Client side

The TikTok Pixel stays on your site, with Advanced Matching sending hashed customer details.

Data sync

Store and CRM sales go to TikTok as offline events through the Events API.

Adjusted to the country you sell in

Your tracking follows the consent choices and privacy settings you decide on for each country. TikTok recommends a consent management platform with its pixel, and its first-party cookies can be switched off in the pixel settings where needed. The Pixel and the Events API follow what your consent tool records. Which rules apply where is a decision for you and your legal advisor. The tracking is then set up to follow it.
